Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian inaugurated a new Waste Management Training Centre at LWMC’s Thokar workshop under the Suthra Punjab Programme.
This facility aims to equip monitoring and sanitation staff from across Punjab with advanced skills and training to uplift cleanliness standards in all districts. During the visit, the Secretary LG&CDD inspected door-to-door waste collection vehicles and reviewed newly procured machinery. He praised LWMC staff for their dedication and stressed the importance of continuous learning. The initiative is part of the Punjab government’s broader vision, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, to create cleaner, greener, and healthier cities through improved sanitation practices and technology-driven reforms.
